Venini is a manufacturer of luxury objects made from Venetian glass. It was founded in 1921 on the island of Murano, located in the bay of Venice, by Paolo Venini, a lawyer from Milan, and Giacomo Cappellin, an antiquities dealer. For more than 100 years, the company has been known for its successful collaborations with many artists and architects, combining the traditional craft of hand-blown glass with modern design. Each item is handmade in Italy, so each item may have slightly different finishes. Benigni's craftsmanship and sophisticated designs have received high acclaim internationally, and have been exhibited in many places around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Triennale Design Museum in Milan, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
